Here is a photo of the rubbing of the label and the mold markings. the left hand side didn't show as well as the rest but you can make it out. the third hole is right above the word C on clarke's the rectangle impression goes from beveled edge to the other beveled and is perfectly symetrical in size location on the front panel which makes it seem like it was carefully engineered into the mold. Hope this veiw help you Red.

I would also be interested if any of you came across this varaint in your bitters book. I plan on trying to contact the gentlemen from americain bottle mag. If I get a response I will post it. thanks Jason

The Update has C 161.5 like that as "peened out, 'Only 42 Cts'." but I still don't know what size yours is. Also the "Update" I have is 1984.
I'm still dreaming of the day I have the extra $2-3 hundred to shell out for the more recent ones.

The bottle stands 10" tall. The one your talking about that was peened out was it embossed on the bottle or was it on a label?

thanks for the info

Sorry, I have to say it, I just can't resist. How do you peen a label? [:D][:D]
Of coarse it was embossment and about 10" height is correct..[:)]
