I had never heard of it either, Bob. Since it was a drugstore, they threw everything under it. That's where I found my cast iron bank face of a black man. That, I would really like to get rid of, but it didn't sell on ebay. I know it could be restored by someone with an interest, and who has other parts, etc.
As for this sign, it is really cool. If you're interested in it, PM Joe, as he dug it. I'm not sure of the value of it, or if he wants to let it go, but it's worth a try.
There used to be a huge Johnston's factory/building east of old County Stadium in the valley near the rail yards. As a kid ( 1960s ) I remember seeing the huge red neon sign on top of huge brick building that said Johnston's cakes, candies, cookies and something else. Used to see that place when we went into Milwaukee visiting my grandparents. I have not been that way in a long time now but am pretty sure the building is long gone. You couldn't miss it day or night from I94. Huh, 40 years later I can still picture it in my mind.

I collect stuff from Milwaukee and I never heard of it. I suppose, if there are no bottles, I would not run across items very often.
