Are you speaking of a silverfish or opalescent sheen to the bottle? That would indicate it has been buried in the yard. The Mae Wests are Mid Fifties to Late Sixties...
If you think you have a one of a kind bottle let Michael Rosman know, he is the expert on Orange Crush bottles, and would like to see it. I did not see one like yours pictured in his latest book, that's one reason why I say it's painted. Another is, I've seen it before on other bottles. One thing's for sure is that it has not been buried resulting in a sheen from mineralization.
The bottle its self is a brown mae west the lid says 50th year 1916 to 1966 So the glass is brown with a silver finish on the outside and the acl on top of the silver, if you look on the back of the bottle all the small print is on it
