Got home early on monday and decided to fly down to the river and get a couple hours digging in
The tide was on the way out so that was perfect!
the first one out was this lg local apothecary
Dont think we miss out on the slicks because we definetly get our fair share still I bring just about every one home You gotta figure their 100 years old and that makes them all keepers to me next up is another local druggist I have dug a bunch of this druggists bottles but they were square bottles that you read while they were on their sides
Then a mrs winslows having never dug one of these there is a lot of embossing on it and was wondering if they all have the same amount
it reads
mrs winslows
soothing syrup
the anglo american drug company
successors to
curtis & perkins
proprietors
the one on the right is a
burringtons
vegetable croup syrup
providence r.i
the book i have seen this in says group syup but I swear this says croup
and finally this super clean med that I cant find anywhere let me know if this a common
it reads
preparations of
dr charles m wesley
are prepared only by
dr c w main
boston mass
Awesome stuff!! I couldn't agree with you more on keeping the common stuff. So long as it is BIM, I won't let myself toss them. I'm ok with selling them for a buck or so at garage sales, markets, etc... but no sense leaving them after they've been rescued from being buried 100+ yrs.
Nice looking haul. So far I haven't dug a single bottle this year from the 1800's. I'm getting closer though. Check out that insulator. The embossing on the dome makes them more appealing and as far as I know more valuable to collectors. Very cool looking Brookfield. Keep 'em comin'. Swiz
KB I had to get a roll of papertowels to wipe the drool off my keyboard when I was checking out that group photo of yours
good luck!
Swizz thanks for looking
