Found an amethyst quart embossed "Southern Distilleries Company, Baltimore Md.," with monogram cross "SODISCO" yesterday. Nice applied top and crude bottom: am thinking is a common bottle - but would like some history if anyone has any info on the company.

Was really hoping to see Richmond, Lynchburg, or other local venue as town of origin as as I frantically cleaned muck off of embossment... rats.

Will post pic if anyone cares to see

Rhona,

It's a BIMAL quart, not a bad looking bottle for being in a rocky creek for 100+ years - but I think it needs a better tan (amethyst shading is very faint). I would probably trade it for a Va. slug plate flask or a cool soda.

I do have some duplicate baltimore-oval style Baltimore whiskeys if you are interested, would potentially trade.

I will post pic in coming days - takes me a long time to complete photo process.
