Stoddard utilitarian ware is expensive because it is rare and in demand. However, real Stoddard utilitarian ware is also typically quite attractive and appealing (unlike this piece).

Also, this guy is fishing. No guarantees that if it were real it would go for that much.

WOW! What a piece of crap! I don't collect Stoddard and even I wouldn't be fooled by that piece of Mexican-eastern European junk. If a person is going to collect any of the foremost American glass factory glass, they should know how to tell it from this kind of junk. Which is why I don't collect historical flasks, which are the most reproed of all American glass, and some of those repros are way way better than this!!!
