Here's Laur's lamp parts that she found in the water...She has a good eye for spotting things that others miss.[;)]

Some kind of ornate victorian wall sconce? Well once again the farm dump has eluded us...we usually check at least once a season for that perfect water level to be able to dig it again...Perhaps if this dry spell continues we'll find it yet. We have a couple of privy "possibles" in the near future...Hopefully we'll get something good soon! Thanks for tagging along.

Laur and I had an errand to run up on the Indian Reservation, and on the way home she spotted on of the new "Bear" crossing signs they've been putting up along the four lane and various places around here...Kind of cool.[:D]

Nice post. It was a nice outing. Maybe the water will continue to go down. Can't wait to clean up those lamp parts or whatever they are. Maybe there is some writing on them.

Here's a link to the short video we took, that gives a feel for the place....I'll post a few pics of the bits and pieces...

Here's a cool Shag barked hickory that grows near the dump...We were walking along and I spotted hickory nuts all over the ground,....Why are dry years usually good for apples and nuts? Anyone know? The apple trees are just loaded around here.

Cool looking tree Joe. As far as dry or wet years a lot has to do with the flowering stage of the particular tree. In wet years certain plants will drop their blossoms if their root system is too wet. We see that with mango trees here. Also some fungus can grow and spread more rapidly in wet weather and that will affect the buds. Another variable is what type of pollinators are present.

Oh and nice outing by the way![:)]

Love this pic!...It looks like Mr. Fred is saying a prayer to the bottle gods...[:D] We searched around this farm dump, but could only drag a few shards up out of the murky water....Laur found some cool early lamp parts.

How do the bears know that they can only cross the road for the next mile? I didn't know they could read.
