in 1877 Hayes Bros was making Mineral Water. in 1891 the were trying to copy Moxie Nerve Food, LEON.
I do have one of those, and I've seen the hutches I just haven't seen the brown bottle like that, it's not very bigAll my research shows they only made non alcoholic beverages. isn't porter alcohol? LEON.
P.S. It looks a lot like the Hutch besides shape & size but all the writing is the same.

It's shaped like a Porter Bottle but not sure they ever Brewed Porter or Brewed anything else? I'd say inconclusive & questionable?
So far I just haven't been able to find that particular bottle. I agree the pictures he's showing me for the porter and that brand doesn't match up. I'm going to have to go back to a very knowledgeable digger who looked at it and said it was a porter but didn't really check it out. He doesn't have a cell phone and he's a little bit different, but unbelievably knowledgeable I just took his word for it. When I go to the bottle show will definitely know by, the first week in November. Just one of those things that make you say huuummm.Lots of Soda & Mineral Water Bottles came in Bottles that look like Beer Bottles. Like my Ypsilanti Mineral Water, if it didn't say Mineral Springs on Bottle most would assume a Beer Bottle. Like my G. Norris, very common in a Hutch but also came in this Beer looking Bottle. Looking threw my American Breweries Book I do not see any Hayes Brothers listed under huge list of Chicago Breweries. LEON.
