The town I do alot of digging in has some very sandy, gravely soil and digging woodliners over 6 ft. can get very scary. The longer the hole is open the more risk you take, this is one reason I don't tend to stop alot to take pics. This shovel full is what the walls of this pit were made of,gets the heart racing.
I posted finds long before you came along and won't stop because of you.I will not post on your threads but will not be called a liar on my own threads. What is funny is all the time you spend getting all stirred up I spend digging.Good luck on your digs.God Bless,Doug
Thanks Rhona,I love digging with my children and sharing the fun with them.Devin pulled out a couple small pontils and a big, crude NICHOLS&CO. BOSTON bottle today, and will end up with the Doyle's on his shelf, too. He is a great kid, couldn't ask for any better.Doug

After I started filling the hole I decided to bust through the wall into another pit off to the side.
Nice pit, Doug. After three not-so-great ones, I'm ready to hit another pontiled pit. I shouldn't gripe, we got a few keepers out of the last three, but there's nothing like a good, OLD pit! Great dig. ~Jim
