Trash Or Treasure Jar Lid ???

Pardon what maybe is a really naive question....But I have not seen one of these before. I ran across this Presto jar lid, and it seems that Presto lids are just too common to sort through in searches. So figured I would ask the more experienced. I have seen zillions of the ones that just say PRESTO in the middle, but none like this... This one reads: "To Open Insert Knife At Notch >>--> PRESTO" Center reds "Pat. P.E. 17562".So is this dead common as well, or did i find something odd? [attachment=IMG_1079.JPG]
