I doubted myself at first? what are the chances of this jug being hole. good thing I shovel lightly because I hit it and knew it was a jug and I just bottomed out, slow and easy and then stuck my finger in the hole of the jug and pulled what a relief.

diggermeister,

It is a city dump long forgotten,
I have been digging there on and off over the past 8yrs and more aggressive the last 2yrs and will be going there tomorrow before the heavy rains. sorry the lighting is a desk lamp washing the back wall and reflecting off the white book case.

Hey 109, I would love to here about your research into finding this dump. Not where so much as how? Random luck? Town records? Historical societies? I would think that your method might be helpful to others (including myself) in finding there own sweet spot...

Well Gary,

Pretty simple actually, In the city unbuildable areas, the outskirts of the city low areas, dead trees, overgrown areas, word of mouth, listen to the oldtimers, stone walls, backside of Malls, and very old large trees where there could of been a settlement, try too look at the lay of the land! before all the big buildings were put up. I hope that helps!!! And remember don't get discourged it takes time.
