First one with no bids, kinda looks tumbled to me but that is not noted in the description:

The Babb listed by dookscoop sure looks like it spent a bit of time in the tumbler. And how about ol'dookscoops description. Would you buy a bottle from this wound tight feller?

ORIGINAL: eBay seller

"SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE OF MY BOTTLES GETTING PULLED. I SAID SOME STUFF I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO ABOUT PAYMENT METHODS. BUYER NEEDS TO CONTACT ME BEFORE PAYMENT. THANK YOU. Desperate times call for drastic measures, and so I'm regretfully having to let go of a few gems. We all know what these are valued at, and if they don't come close, I pull it. We don't pay top dollar for something to watch it get fifty bucks on ebay. With that being said, I offer this sparkler of a goldrush era pontiled blob soda. There no excuses for this 1852-54 beauty. Very minor high-point wear on the second B in BABB that I only mention for accuracy. About as green as I've ever seen them, and as bold a strike as I've seen them. Most I've seen are very faint. Seedy bubbles, and some nice whittle put this one among the best examples. It stands 7 3/8" tall X 2 5/8" across the bottom. Some of you might recognize this one from American Bottle Auction's last one. And if you know it, then you know what I paid. Let's get close! "

Doesn't that go against eBay policy? That's what reserves are for right?

i think it would be against ebay policy, plus its kind of stupid as most of the bidding occurs at the end, especially with the bidding programs now. I sold something with an opening bid of $24.99, that with a minute left had no bids, then received 3 and sold for $499. So by their thinking they would have ended the auction early due to a lack of interest and lost out on the sale.

Thyere was a nice bottle on flea that I was interested in so i contacted the seller and we agreed on a price. FleaBay would NOT let him end the auction early, and I won't bid on that site. We both lost out. Less ending bid and high fees for him.

I agree, that bottle looks to have been cleaned, which in my opinion should be mentioned. Nothing worse than buying a "MINT" bottle to pull it out of a box and have it about slip out of your hands because it is slicker than snot from being spun.

I BEGGED A PERSON TO LET ME BID ON SOMETHING AND PAY WITH POSTAL MONEY ORDER. THE PERSON TOLD ME TO "BUG OFF". WELL THAT MADE ME A LTTLE ANGRY AND WHEN THE BOTTLE SOLD FOR $11 AND CHANGE. I WROTE BACK AND INFORMED HIM HE HAD LOST MONEY BECAUSE OF HIS PAY PAL GO ALONG WITH EBAY POLICY. THE JERK STARTED SAYING UNBLEIEABLE THINGS ABOUT MY MOTHER AND MY GRANDMOTHER![8D] OH LORD! I TOLD HIM TO SHUT THE HELL UP OR I WOULD SEND ALL OUR CONVERSATION TO EBAY AND SEE WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY. NOT ANOTHER PEEP!
