Get yourself some solid planks of timber and shore up that open privy, you can then dig it in saftey and get your timber back when you are finished [] .

I haven’t decided what to do yet but it may just be worth my while to put a few supports up rather than trying to take over a ton of rocks out. Its over my head so it will be quite hard to lug them out of the hole with only 3 more feet to dig in it.
