Did you start digging well below that spot? Looks like most of what you pulled were rectangular bottles, so perhaps the more round ones and possibly some jugs rolled further down the slope? Did you search other areas along that old road?

Awesome picture of the undug dump, thanks for showing more restraint than I would have demonstrated! What a cool image! Cool dig as well, it must have been very stimulating.

The other bottles must have been common indeed if they are still languishing uncleaned in the basement! I think I see an embossed oval pharmacy bottle in that pile, the kind with embossing in a wreath-like frame. What was that bottle?

Yes Plumbata, ended up going back there about 3 months later with someone and we found another pocket of bottles aways back from which we came in an got another dozen or so, bigger ones as well as jug and crock pieces, I brought home the part of the crock that had debossing on it. I remember my digging buddy pushing me out of the way, "Geez (edited) you don't have to get them all!!

thats fantastic,,,,thats about like when i found 5 8-packs of acl's sittin on the side of the curb back in about "77 or 78". it was after the local bottlers desided not to take "return for deposit" back anymore. i still have those bottles , they make great displays.

Yeah, I hate when life gets in the way of going digging, my wife just can't understand that. BTW , the sturgeon oil bottle is also side embossed "LINAMENT" one side, "PURE", the other.
