I find alot of marbles along the river, I've only dug one in a dump (that I saw anyway) but it got me wondering, why are there so many marbles to be found near rivers, how do they get there? and also any tips on how to better find marbles riverside?

I'd uh grabbed that insulator chunk- it's a nice chunk. I got all kinds uh insulator chunks in a chunk box- stuff that would have been nice but as usual was broken when i found it.
I think it's a cd-138, brookfield made 'em in the 80's or somethin', anyways... nice chunk

I WAS TOLD YEARS AGO BY AN INSULATER COLLECTOR TO ALWAYS BRING THE BROKEN ONES HOME WITH YOU BECAUSE THEY MIGHT BE VALUABLE TO A COLLECTOR EVEN BROKEN OR IN PIECES. BADGER

Yes. That is true of the rare pieces. While they won't command book price, I have some cracked or chipped pieces I paid multiple hundreds for. Some collectors only want VVNM+ , but some are content to have an example of that style and/or don't have the $$$ for a mint one.

My rule of thumb is - "I can always throw it out later." If I don't take it home, I might never know.

(of course, now that I think about it, that might just explain why this place looks like it does..... Hmmm.....)
