Those with the reverse safe hinges are referred to as "lefties" with the hinge being unusually on the left side instead of the usual right. I bought a box of bottles once at an auction, knowing that a Warner's was in it, only to find out afterwards that it was a lefty (pointed out first to me by JoeTheCrow). I wasn't even buying the box for the Warner's. It was a nice light honey amber. I sold off all of my Warner's bottles a few years back and did quite well on the lefty. Nice bottle you have there!

I am very, very familiar with WARNER'S having sold literally 100s of them. (2 different large collections) It has been awhile though and their values go up and down some but I can tell you definitely that one that dark will bring a premium if not damaged or stained. The lighter the better, usually, but these are typically medium to light amber so that one will stand out. One really nice feature with extra dark bottles is that the embossing stands out, one looks AT the embossing instead of THROUGH it. In my opinion, it's worth at least $50 more than a typical color.

I have not kept up with current values, it's been several years since I have sold any. Ed Ojea in his 1998 copyrighted book on WARNER'S, which I purchased from him in 2006, lists this variant, his WRG # 12A, as SCARCE = hard to find. He gives it a value of $175 which is almost 10 times the value of the common variant.

My experience has been that certain categories of bottles, including and maybe particularly WARNER'S, fluctuate from time to time. I see "Righties" selling for around $20 for near perfect examples, could have bought one for that Saturday

Hope that helps a little.

Warners bottles are neat, and I would guess that they will always be pretty collectible. I have one that's quite dark, but not as dark the one you have. Here it is next to a light amber "three cities" variant.

Good color, left hinge, double collar (I've never seen a left with a blob tooled though) so I'd guess in the $150-200 range. More as or if the economy pics up.
Personally, I'd pay more if I won the lottery. Give me 600 million and I'll be the sheik of Massachusetts!!!![:D][:D][:D][:D]
