There is an Eastern blown variant in clear (usually hazy) glass with a tooled top more commonly seen. In fact I haven't seen another Western aqua example since I bought this at the Las Vegas show in 1993...maybe one of our Cal Diggers or Westernglassaddict can share some info as to rarity? ...or lack thereof [8D]
Very cool! Gotta love that western glass. Always a pleasure to see that distinctive color and clarity. We have a few western made hutch sodas and our only blob is San Francisco made also.
Several years back I dug some very large applied top, collared neck extract bottles in a beautiful light green color down in Tucson. Though all of the other bottles were heavily hazed and mineralized these bottles were crystal clear right out of the hole. Though they were slicks you could tell right away they were made in San Francisco. I wish I would have kept one as a window bottle.
Back in the day, fellow-digger Mark Huddleston gave me an unembossed, applied top, hammer-"whittled" Florida Water, seed bubbles...need to dig that one out and take a picture. My problem is that I'm a third generation packrat so I've saved 99% of what I ever added to my collection.
