This next area of the falls has to be one of America's top 5 scenic places.It almost looks like it was designed as a Japaneese water garden.

This was high up on a wall in the gourge.It is either a drawing by an acient American Indian or a fossil of some sort of large animal.I am leaning towards it being a fossil.

RED...JUST CURIOUS IF YOU LIVED AT WATKINS GLENN WHEN THE ROCK FESTIVAL TOOK PLACE? IT HAPPENED IN THE SUMMER OF 1973 WITH AN EST. CROWD OF 600,000 PEOPLE..MORE THEN WOODSTOCK. TOOK PLACE AT THE RACE WAY.JAMIE

Well glass man, I did live here and saw a lot of the crowd. When it was over they came down the Corning 414 hill into Watkins Glen and there was no room for cars. We went south on 14 to Montour Falls and they had already came down into that town. The best sights were at the car wash in the south part of town. There were at least a hundred of them there, showering in close contact - buck naked and having fun!! We didn't stop, in fact I think my wife had her eyes shut.

It took at least a week or more to pick up the trash at the track. They didn't have one again. RED Matthews

WOW, I missed this one. Thanks Eric for pulling this story back up. Wish I had a nice vacation in my lifetime to be able to add to my top 3. [] Steve what a nice job you did covering Red's place. I bet everyone wants to live there now. I must have missed this one, as it was my birthday weekend. How nice to have such beautiful surroundings to live in and a love story like that to beat. Steve it was nice to see you and the Mrs. having some r and r. You always make sure when you like something and know about something good that you get the good word out! You get an A+ for a job well done on reporting back on this little vacation at the Matthew's.
