Another surprise was this S.A. Richmond MD Samaritan Nervine from Tuscola Ill. and embossed mug of the good doctor! Thought it was another Pierce's Favorite Remedy as it looks very similar in shape and size, with WMc on the base and key mold. What a pleasant discovery.

Saving best for last, at least for me, are two local sodas. On the left is the earliest Kleindienst soda, who likely started in the 60's, though earliest reference is the 1871 business directory. Also marked C&I on backside, topping age to about 1878 when the C&I partnership dissolved. Also, David croaked in '76 and his widow ran the show for 40+ years! This was my missing link in the series, as they were in production through 1918 and had at least 4 major bottle types with at least one minor variant in the third from oldest type, and 2 types with Hannibal misspelled with only one "N". The one on the right was unknown to me until I dug it. I returned on Tuesday to scrape the bottom more as I felt I had missed something and sure enough I did! This one is only listed in the 1885-86 directory, though there is no surviving directories for 83-84 or '87, and were running a saloon by '88. So production could have been as few as 2 years and as many as 5. Certainly a rare one as I never even dug a shard before. Any St. Louis diggers recognize or seen this one?

That's the earlier version of the bottle. Those are a lot tougher to find than the St Louis vers.

Pic of the entire haul.......found Major's Rubber and leather cement bottles in 3 sizes and clear and aqua. Over 2 dozen in all, I looked up the business at that spot and it suddenly made sense.......a harness maker! HA! Jack

Thanks Matt, your book was the first place I looked and was also pleasantly surprised. BTW, the syringe should arrive tomorrow. Lemme know when it arrives and all is well and whether it worked or not. (Tried sending a reply to your pm but wouldn't go through)......Jack
