I've got the late winter blues. Just measured 42" of snow in my back yard[][]
Anyway I figured I would post some pics of a dump we dug through the winter of 2001-2002. These pictures are from March 2002.
This is a large 1800's town dump in Falmouth Maine that yielded thousands of cool bottles. Lot's of nice medicines and local druggists, fruit jars and milks. The dump covered about an acre of two and had an average depth of 5-7'.
Here is Nitro(portlandmedman) looking at what will soon be dug. It's all dump under that bamboo.
Once we busted through the perma-frost we hit paydirt
Check out the meat, bottles and pottery everywhere. This is what we live for.
I found not one but two glass telephone candy containers....COOL
We dug lots of cast iron toys, this milk wagon Nitro found was the best.
A few of the days finds.
Hope this helps pass the late winter digging blues.
Joel
