It was certainly some sort of cosmetic; there are quite a few wide mouth cosmetic bottles from the 1850's - 60's in various interesting shapes, you could make a whole collection of them. The one in the middle below is another X. Bazin (with the full name embossed), odd that it's the plainest of the bunch.
Thanks a lot for the additional photos. This is really quite a slice of shelf, and a beauteous spread of cosmetics!
I'm having trouble with the embossed design on your XB. Am I seeing a bow tie at the neck, or is that an "apothecary's belt?"
Hadn't the faintest idea of where might be Mullica Hill until I looked it up. Talk about "Location, location..." You're sitting right on top of the Glass Triangle. I wanna see some more of your collection. Hell, I wanna come over and fondle some of your bottles. Thank you for the brief glimpse...
More of a fancy ribbon bow, with the ends hanging down. If you want to see more of the collection, there's some pics in the 'post a pic of your bottle' thread in the 'Displaying and Photographing' forum, I will hopefully post more sometime soon...

Thanks. I looked at em, twice, in fact. But, those are all the fancy "Window Bottles" and rare Eastern Seaboard Stuff. I wanna see some funky, back of the house bottles, pipes, smalls, and unknown objects. Know what I mean?
