I HAVE A 1939 HOBBLE SKIRT REG DEC. 25, 1923 BUT THE ACTUAL DATE ON THE BOTTLE IS 1939. BELOW YOU WILL SEE A LETTER FROM A COLLECTOR WHO SWEARS BY PETRETTIS AND MOST DO. Please read the two different dates Petrettis has and another site well known. My question is....Do I have a RARE one here that has never been seen?
Here is the small discussion;

Hey,
Got your comment and have visited your web site before. It is very nice but I use PETRETTI'S guide for my information. On page 405 of the 11th addition it lists the 1915 bottle as from being made from 1916-1924. He lists the Chritmas bottle from 1924-1937. In fact I was in this exact same discussion about the actual dates of these bottles back about 50 years ago when I first started collecting Coke items. It seems that nobody for sure knows the exact dates just as they don't know if the original Coke really had coke. If you have some authority better than PETRETTI'S let me know. Yours, Robert

2.[/align][ol][*]"NOV.16 1915" were produced from 1917 to 1928.
[*]"DEC. 25 1923" (called the "Christmas Cokes") were produced from 1928 to 1938.

Anyone care to shed some light on this and especially my 1939?
THANKS, BAM BAM.

I have seen enough of them with 1939 on them to believe that they were produced in 1939. In some glass plants there were over laps in production dates just like the Root produced 1915 bottles that were produced until 1930.

To answer your question, no it is not rare but it is not one of the most common either as far as the date goes. The city/town it is from is another matter and it canhelp you complete your collection as far as dates go.

This 39 is from HUNTSVILLE ALA on bottom. Most of my cokes i collect from that city. I have 1 ice blue SS coca cola bottom script from Birmingham but no Walker county. Done a lot of deer hunting with dogs down in walker county and plenty of fishing in the lake.

Some SS Cokes were produced longer than folks suspect, 1924 in Pensacola, FL but I was referring it the hobble skirts.

On the 1915 cokes you can't tell by the bottle exactly when they were made unless it was an error bottle, off color bottle on which you can find documintation or you can find ordering documintation. In Pensacola the last batch of SS Coke bottles and hutch soda water bottles for the Hygea Coca Cola Bottling Works was ordered in 1924. The first batch of hobble shirt Cokes was ordered in 1926 and were1915 of which some were clear and some were bottles were Georgia green. There are no date codes on the 1915 hobble skirt bottles.
Christmas Coke bottle production is said to have started in 1928 and had date codes as all 6oz hobble skirt Coke bottles after that did but the first batch recieved by Charles Veasy Rainwater was recorded as being recieved in 1927.

Most referrances say that the Christmas Cokes were produced between 1928 and 1938 but exact production dates are easyer to disprove than to prove.

You are saying that NO 1915 Hobbles were dated? Do I have a uncommon one here or is this not a date of 1920. It has on the heel CHATT 20 Here are three photos for you to look at, the bottle is as found never cleaned or tumbled so there is some rust looking crap on it but what i like the best is the thick glass and all the bubbles in it.
