Great demijon, I love the twist in the neck. Too bad Harry Pristis doesn't seem to be around anymore, he would be able to give you a good idea of the "when and where" on that one. My guess would be New York state, 1850s.

His last post was almost two years ago... Try his web site; it's pretty informative...

thought i might get into this.

i have a dutch onion and a ladies leg that came out of the Berbice river. i think i spelled that right.

ive got some 1840's bottles,

pieces of black glass i can date back to 1680 because of the site they came from.

i found a yellowware childs whistle in the shape of a dogs head. early 1800's. maybe even 1700's.

i have part of a native american jug/water bottle thats from about 1400.

if anyone wants to see pics just let me know [:)]

I wish Harry Pristis would come back on board of this bottle forum as he seems to be a wealth of information about antique bottles.[:)]

This is the oldest bottle that I have dug. It is a cobalt swirl scent bottle with a ground pontil and sheared neck made between 1800-1840. It realy made my day when it came out of the groung because before this guy my oldest was about 1885-1890. Realy old bottles do not come out of the ground alot here in Texas. You guys all have some very sweet bottles.
