Hey everyone! Long time no post.

Me, my dad, my buddy Alan, his son and my nephew (who are about the same age) went out to the Tylerport Pa bottle show. After walking around and fondiling some nice flasks and sodas we talked to some diggers and got a lead on a dump in Philly. We decided we would check it out on the venture home. It was a really cold day but the kids didnt mind. When we found a good place to start digging, the dump produced some TOC bottles, marbles, and pipes. My nephew is 8 and not much of a digger yet so he was scratching around in some roots. He pulled out a clear medicine and said "I found one!". Alan examined the bottle and read the embossing. We all thought it was a local Philly med and were pretty happy for him. Then Alan said it was from Leadville, Colorodo. Then I looked at it, then my dad, then it got passed around 3 or 4 more times.

It is embossed The Taylor Drug Store / Leading Perscription Druggists / Leadville, Colorado

We all found some cool stuff and it was a great first 'real' dig for my nephew.

Matt

Talk about getting bit by the "bottle bug"... that boy is going to have a serious case at an early age. I didn't get bit until I was 20. Great bottle, good job!

tique -- yup, hes gonna be my good luck charm when he gets big enough to dig a 20 foot privy in 6 hours.

paul -- He already has a nice poison collection. He walked around the bottle show and dealers gave him poisons cause he talks too much about them, and I hooked him up with a few.

michael -- Thank you very much for the information. My dad wrote to some Leadville Historical Society with no feedback yet. We had a few more questions regarding the Taylor name and the possibility of some famous characters of history who might have shopped in the drugstore. Thank you again!

glass man -- its a heck of a bottle for a TOC dump! i'd be thrilled to find it too, but it makes me more happy he found it himself.
