I have some questions about this flask. It has a strange seam and guess it is a strange three piece mold. I outlined the seam in yellow. The seam is the same on the front and back and is very faint.

I think the bottle was fire polished. The glass has a high gloss.

So here are my questions.
What type of mold is this?
Do you think it has a fire polished pontil?
When and where do you think it was made?
What color would you call this? There is zero amber color in the glass.
Any Idea on value?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, I will have to look for coverage on this bottle. You are completely right about the parting line and I have a bottle almost identical to yours. It is certainly interesting.
These bottles were made by Nailsea in Bristol England. There were also some made in Portugal form another information source that I do not have here. I will write some more later tonight.

Back to you later. RED Matthews

Thank you Red. Any information you can find would be appreciated. Of all the bottles I have seen, I have never seen a seam like this.

HI again. The mold was a 3-part with a canoe shaped bottom and two sides that hinged to the closed position. The handles were made in a separate mold and applied by some type of tool that fit in the hole and you can usually see where the tool pushed the handle on to the glass by a indent in the bottom 5' o'clock position.

Sorry I don't don't have any file on it here. RED Matthews

Red thanks for the information. I saw your shadow box on another post and it looked great.
