My youngest son (20) has recently gotten the bottle bug and has been hitting flea markets lately. He picked up this H Jones and the best I can find is that it is probably from Australia. A sauce type bottle with lots of whittle and a smooth bottom. I'm guessing 1890's but don't know foreign...
My latest hair brained idea is to use some old photos and postcards I have to blow up and and use for wall art. After spending hours editing and resizing this first one, I can't decide if I like the finished one which has a light brown tone (at least it looks light brown on my monitor), or the...

Bought this on the bay today just for the piece of label that was left. There have been a couple posts lately about different labels on what are normally liquor bottles and this is another sample. Poison in a whiskey bottle sure seems like a dangerous combination to me.
Don't know much about jars but this looks like a good one.

Now I'm not complaining here because I use Ebay all the time both buying and selling but there are a few little things that just bug the heck out of me. I'm going to start listing them here and if you want to add to them just bump the number up till we get to 100.

You easterners are going to have to stay up later. What's us poor westerners supposed to do at 9 or 10 o'clock (our time) while you guys are in bed and snoring already?
My kids are always calling me old so figured I would give them some proof with some fake antique photos. Should have used an old hand saw to make it more realistic.

I've been working on the lighting for this wall display. Added LED strip light to the rear and below the shelfs. Today added 1/8" plexiglass to the bottom shelf to try and get the light to come more under the bottles. It helped a little but I think I'll try 1/4" on the top shelf and see if...
Thought I might share this item I found in an old book a few years ago. Bottles are hard to beat but if you're like me, anything old is cool!
This is a 3 page homework assignment thats dated May 11, 1887. It is written on some good stationary as you can see a head stamp in the upper left...
Driving through a nearby town last week and noticed some construction going on. Everything had been hauled away and a new layer of gravel had been spread but managed to find a couple bottles in a small dirt pile off to the side of the lot. Nothing great but saved them from an asphalt blanket...
Has anyone ever tryed to move a label from one bottle to another? I have a great label on a crappy bottle and since we're not talking about a high dollar item here, I thought about trying to soak off the label and placing it on a good piece of glass. I would hate to ruin the label though.
Thanks
Hi Jim,
Saw this new listing and thought I'd pass it on.

Hey All, I'm always looking for whiskey bottles with nice original labels. Pint, fifth, quart cylinders.. Embossing is a plus, western is a plus plus.
Thanks
Chuck
I was lucky enough to win this western whiskey on Ebay last week. It's a common bottle but in an uncommon color. I'll call it olive amber but it depends on what time of day you look at it.
In the early morning with low light.
A couple hours later with medium light...
Hey all
I had a few extra days off work and got bored so I came up with this idea. Scan old photos from books, print them out and put them in certificate frames from the dollar store. Total cost each about $1.25
Hi all,
I've had this bottle for a while and never knew what is was. Always thought it might be a poison because of the raised ribs but it has no other markings. When in doubt, ask the experts. Stands 4" tall.
Hi all,
Got this in a box of bottles about 20 years ago and always considered it a tourist reproduction. Before I give this to the wife for her to sell in a yard sale for a nickel, thought I better check with the experts. It has bubbles, stretch marks and a broken pontil but??????
