    olive coloured bottle (snuff?)

last photo. It is probaqbly worth pointing out that I'm not trying to use this forum to sell this bottle; it's almost certainly going to a friend who has deep pockets and also bottles that I want, alternatively it will go to ebay.

    olive coloured bottle (snuff?)

photo 3 (of 4) I love the whittling in this bottle; it's evident in this photo.

    olive coloured bottle (snuff?)

this time I've used a ruler, it's 15cm tall, 7cm wide and 5cm deep (6x2.5x2 inches) some close up photos:

    olive coloured bottle (snuff?)

I've been asked to sell a bottle for a friend and I'm trying to understand what it is worth. From it's age I would have suspected that evidence of a pontil scar would have bene present, but I think it's been refired, so no evidence remains, however the base is very crude. Its lip is also very...

    W.Watkins Boulder City W.A.??? cloverleaf

This bottle is an Australian bottle from Western Australia, I've never sean the crown-sealed version, but their codds & ginger beers all seem to get pretty good prices. There is infact a codd of their on ebay right now, if it helps with pricing.

went to a bottle show, look wat i scored, pics!!!

Nice GBs there Willman. I had a few mates who made it out to Cowra & they picked up a pair of lamonts from Newtown and a codd, also from Newtown. Very rare bottles that I've never found myself and really want. Funny thing is that I also got out for a bit of a dive this morning and found the...

    Two nice Australian Codd bottles

Mike, How far from Bunbury is "here"? Also that's a very nice condition codd!! As for how many Aussie bottles have 'roos; I know of one other Manufacturer from Sydney who did; there is a George Summers codd on ebay (6258061002) at the moment (another very rare bottle, unfortunately...

    Two nice Australian Codd bottles

Bought one for $20 and found the other one on the wekeend. Superb pictorials from Sydney, both displaying odd-looking 19th centutry Kangaroos.

    More diving finds

Those NSW Lager Bier's are one of my favourite Sydney beer bottles; they also come in two sizes (ridiculoulsly large -> like the one you found, and normal height but almost empty -> a little rarer).

    Boxing Day Digging

Well done Tandy; coloured, pictorial lids are always terrific finds! and it should clean up a little better (with great care).

    Ginger Ale Bottles wanted

there is a nice condition, and from what understand, probably quite rare Australian (Sydney) Ginger Ale in this auction (far right, the Blue Bow from Tooth & Co): http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6230189113 (and no; I don't know the seller personally; so this ain't an add).

    Melhuish Sydney pot lid

Can't tell you much about rarity, but WOW! Very nice find.

ginger beer bottle? Sydney NSW 2217

my opinion is that Henfrey GBs are one of the nicer sydney stamped GBs, and were this bottle to be in better condition it would likely go for over $100, but in this condition (very water-worn) it's worth any significant amount ($20 if you were lucky). Henfrey & Co operated between 1879 and...

help with repairing a baby feeder

I've found a damaged porcelain baby feeder, with under-glaze printing; very much like a typical pot lid. It's a very rare one from Sydney (Australia) and I'm wanting to try and get it repaired. To the best of the knowledge of my local collecting club there have never been any other pieces of...

    Codd Bottles

Japan (still being used and manufactured!) and Pakistan, Hawaii (back before it was part of USA)

    Your best find of 2004

Thanks Tony14, I'd also love to have a pair of these (my photo is perhaps a little confusing; it's only one bottle, but the front and back). Irish: I only know of the Wilce and the Chester Lodge ones, but I've heard rumours that other inner-west companies used them (perhaps unfounded? I've...

    Your best find of 2004

I reckon I can now start a "Best Find for 2005". Check this one out! The best part is that it's from Newtown (the area that I mainly collect bottles from). To the best of my knowledge there are almost certainly less than 10 known and perhaps under 5! It's a "Sharpes Patent" I believe.
