Very Nice. I have had a few english Codd's dug locally. There are also a pair of local Codd patents that I have yet to find from William Hudson Bottling Works that are worth about $700 each.
G'day Warith
Nice codds...Pictured is a Thomas Stokes of Bunbury WA codd I picked up near Coolgardie (What it was doing that far from Bunbury is a mystery!)
Also has a weird kangaroo trademark.
It would be interesting to find out how many makers have used the 'roo trademark.
Regards
Mike
Mike,
How far from Bunbury is "here"? Also that's a very nice condition codd!!
As for how many Aussie bottles have 'roos; I know of one other Manufacturer from Sydney who did; there is a George Summers codd on ebay (6258061002) at the moment (another very rare bottle, unfortunately this example is damaged) and there was a soda syphon just recently (7220611115). I know of no others.
Manger & O'Neill of Echuca and the Rochester Aereated Water Co both used a few different Roo TM bottles, both used really nice codd's.
The two companys where associated with each other somehow or another, Manger & O'Neill had a branch in Rochester too.
Edit= Echuca and Rochester are in Victoria Aust. BTW [] .
