I wish these were pictures of my bottle collection....
I took my father-in-law to the Germany Pharmacy Museum yesterday. Took lots of pictures. They did not allow flash so some are a bit dark. I am going to post a few. If anyone wants the rest I can probably mail a disc to you. My dial up is too slow to send any.
This first is a entire pharmacy from a convent. It dates from the early 1700's.

Hundreds of these enameled bottles. I am sure they could donate a couple to me without affecting the collection....

These were in a room representing bulk supplies or bottles not meant for the front of the pharmacy.

It would be nice to find some of these small bottles. Love how crude they are. You can see the tall kick-up in the large bottle in the back. It was very tall and thin with a tiny mouth

I guess this was a sample kit, couldn't quite translate all the label. It is from the 1800's, French. The bottles are about 1 inch tall.

Not usually a big fan of the machine made pharmacy bottles, unless they are strange shapes or colors. These are 20th century but cool color and shape.

It has been warm but it is all relative. My in-laws are here from Louisiana and have been chilly. When it gets up in the upper 80's they feel better. We have also had thunderstorms...normally we only get one or two each summer here. We even had a couple thunder snow storms this winter.
Can you explain to me when you would call a bottle a case bottle and when it is called half post? The small, clear rectangular bottles look like they would be called case bottles if they were taller?
If you shoot me your address I can send you a disc with the pics. My internet is so slow...it took me almost an hour to upload the 5 pictures on the forum.
If I tried to email them to you it would take a day.
i hope when we make it back to the States I will be able to see your collection. I have alot to learn about these old bottles.

Not sure I completely understand. I am a visual person and usually need to have it in front of me (it is better than saying I am slow). I will do some research on the subject to try to get a better handle on what a German Half Post is all about.
If we were posted in Heidelberg I would have volunteered at the museum. I think the best way to learn about something like glass or other objects it to handle a lot of it.

It is in Heidelberg Castle. Very cheap to get into the castle and the museum. From what I understand all the contents of the museum have been donated, they have not bought anything.
It would be great to be locked in there for a few hours...I would just love to be able to take some pictures with flash and some close-ups.
I imagine they have a store room with even more that they can't display because of lack of space. I would be happy to volunteer to help with the storage problem. They could leave some bottles with me free of charge, that is just the kind of helpful person I am.
