Nic and John recently probed out a pit in an 1872 yard, but were also intrigued by a cement walled "thing" along the same fence line. Nic probed it and stated "yep, it's got glass in it and I think it's about 4 feet deep."
Well, John and Nic opened up the woodliner and I kept looking at that cement demon. I reminded Nic about the last one he dug and Sick Ricks sage advice...
One thing led to another... While John and Nic were pulling out broken hingemolds, I was pulling out screwcap meds, tons of decomposing newspapers, broken dishes and figurines. Nothing to write home about, for sure. I got to the bottom. One late throw- a common tooled med.
Well, we talked and Nic and I went off to probe another yard while John started filling in the woodie. We got back and he was in the cement hole. He had the foresight to probe it out, through the bottom. Well, when we walked up, he was pulling out 1870's glass. What a guy. Nic gets in and pulls out a Warner's Safe. Two more wax sealers came up (broken), a nice cone ink, a Bennington, a large glass button, a Piso's, a sample Barry's Florida Water (all in Spanish) some other meds I can't remember right now and an 1870's intact plate, with the makers mark on the back, from Pontiac, Michigan. That piece alone was worth the entire dig.
So, Mr Rick, you might want to re think your advice, according to Nic. LOL

Hey Nic, post that plate, I forgot pics of that and a couple other things.
