What I find most unbelievable is that I HAVE this bottle

If you have a second one then it will only be worth $11,000.00[;)]
If you find yours, you need to seek out that other seller and destroy his copy.
Chop its top off with your sword.
There can be only one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gunther,
Both your posts were quite funny.
I will have to go to ebay to buy a samurai sword
so that I can render his bottle useless, valueless...
Listen, let us dispense with ideas of violence.
If that bottle could garner me $1,000 I would
be more than grateful for some financial "stimulus" of mine own!
So, I am off again as I have 800 boxes to unload until
I can determine whether, or not, my pontil bottle is in fact
the W.Heard Shampoo.... If not, well, then, I guess
I could be happy with $6.50 plus shipping ;-D

I did, however, unearth a J.J.W. Peterson Trade Mark Hamburg Bottle in Amber with a Pointer and bird. This is from my mother's (r.i.p.) collection of bottles from Panama, including some rather nice ceramic beer bottles we collected in Portobello, ostensibly the collection from a Spanish Galleon that sank in a storm and whose contents washed out on the beaches of lovely Portobello, Panama. Anyone interested? It's not even $100. So compared to 22,000, it is quite a bargain. [:D]

Portobello!!?? I always think of Jimmy Buffett's song "Cowboy in the Jungle" when I hear that city mentioned!
Been a while since I dusted off my Jimmy CDs...I guess it's about time.

Wow this guy is crazy the bottles he speaks of that have sold for very large sums of money did so because the are also very highly collected types of bottles. My friend bought the green Kelly's he spoke of and he only had to pay that kind of money because of there being several wealthy collectors of Colored figural bitters he had to compete with.

In my opinion Hair bottles are not as widely collected as other categories. And the best colored pontiled Hair bottle is worth about $20,000 but it crosses over to the category of a colored pontiled Medicine which there are many wealthy collectors after.

His bottle being smooth based only appeals to the Hair bottle specialist. And my feeling is that even a pontiled example of his bottle would only bring in the $6,000 range. It is my feeling that if he put this bottle in a major bottle auction he would only get between $1000-$2000 on the high end.
