What year did 7up start using ACL bottles ? Im thinking of purchasing a 7 up six pack container with bottles from an out of state antique mall. it's all original and the dealer states it's from the 1930's. i don't have a photo of the item.

if they are from the 30's they should be amber, check the date codes on the bottom. If they are they are very nice bottles to have and could bring a nice price heres is a link to a 1936 7up discussed earlier on this subject

Amber, no................that's only from at max. I belive 8 cities in Tenn., Tex., S.C. & Calif..

8 bubbles is what to look for OR a date code for late 1930's, ie. 1937, 38 and 39.

Of additional interest are the following 7up articles by Cecil Munsey ...

http://cecilmunsey.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=search_result&Itemid=34

Enter 7-Up where it says "Search Keyword." (Be sure do use a dash between the 7 and the Up). Click on "Search" near the bottom.

Three articles will pop up ... #135 - #107 - #430b

I met Cecil at a bottle show here in San Diego a couple of years ago and he told me that he found his 1935 amber 7up bottle while crawling under an old house in the downtown area of San Diego. Cecil is in his 70s now and said he no longer crawls under old houses but that he used to when he was younger and found lots of cool bottles that were apparently left by construction workers who built the houses.
