Here's the newest addtion to my Arizona collection. A freshly dug Glendale Pharmacy bottle dug in Glendale yesterday by my digging partner. Fortunately he was nice enough to sell it to me. It is only the second example known and the first dug in over 30 years. I dug with him over the weekend and found no good bottles. He had 2 real good days while I had to go back to earning a living. In addition to the Glendale drug he found a nice cobalt poison with skull & crossbones, a previously unknown Arizona milk, a Phoenix hutch soda and 3 Phoenix crown sodas.

By the lip finish I might guess 1910 - 1915 vintage? Imagine Arizona back then, those wide open spaces, no metropolis stretching from Tempe to Phoenix and back again...always nice to find a pharmacy/druggist with "Dr." embossed in the glass.

Hello Rocky,

I sent you an email about the bottle but forgot to tell you the size. The one I have is a 2 ounce which is about 4 1/2" tall.

Hey Jason,

Was sure glad to get this bottle. It was one of two Arizona towns not represented in my collection and happens to be 5 miles from where I live. Now I just need Safford but that will be very difficult also. I'm going to have to make some time this spring to get some digging trips together for the area. If you see one out there somewhere I alway pay well for the ones I need. Take care, Michael

Hi Mike, I found it. Its 3 3/4" high and looks like yours. The area was an old 1870's to TOC sugar plantation camp. The property was dozed and most of the TOC stuff was dragged and smashed. The older stuff was buried deeper and I got some killer local bottles. I found the Glendale laying on the ground and figured I'd keep it as it was embossed. I looked it over and it appears to be damage free. Just a bit hazy.

Hello Rocky,

Very cool. It's hard to imagine that bottle finding it's way to Hawaii. I have a friend that dug over 400 privies in Phoenix in the sixties and seventies and he never found even a broken one. If you are willing to sell it and send it back to Arizona I would be very interested in getting it from you. It's a smaller one than the one I just got and it would fit in Karen's small western pharmacy collection beautifully. Shoot me a price and let's make a deal. Michael
