I need help with this one from my collection.

It is simular to a dimple vinegar. Approx 13" tall and 3" round.
It has 3 rows of 10 dimples running vertically down with each row surounded with a rope border. The front has an anchor below a crown within a rope circle.
It has a wrap & skirt lip.
It is water washed so any photos don't do it any justice
Any info would be helpfull

Hi River digger,
Never seen or heard of that one. Although there are many bottles I have not heard of. I have a dimple vinigar and another that is identical to the dimple with a castle embossed on the shoulder an Stowers embossed on the back. It is a cordial. Seems the same basic dimple mold was used for a number of contents and names.

G'day River Digger

Roycroft's Australian Bottle Price Guide # 6 (1997) has it listed as a 'rope and dimple' vinegar worth $250-300 AUD.

If this is the same bottle as yours, it would be worthwhile polishing - sorry the scan/photo is poor quality, but hopefully you get the idea with the rope surrounding the dimples.

Cheers,

Dirranbandi

Funny you should post that, last week the bloke I was digging with found a broken one and this week another mate of mine paid $275 for a polished one. They are a rare and desirable goldfields bottle [;)] .

Many thanks to all.

It appears to be the same as the one in the scan

Good luck digging
