I just picked up this square dark glass bottle. It looks black until held up to the light and then it looks very dark reddish-amber. There is quite a bit of dirt encrusted inside, I think it will clean up nicely.
The mold seam stops at the neck base and the neck and lips appear to be spun and polished.
There is roughness on the bottom inside a larger circular irregular area which looks it has been smoothed.
It's about 10" high.
Any ideas as to age and use ?
I'm thinking apothecary.
