Maybe I was lucky but in four years of wandering the Thames, once in a while to be fair, I didn't have any trouble. Hope will not start now, especialy because I found half of a kind of a drinking vase and I wold like to go to find some other parts of it. It is formed from two pieces found about 200 metres away and I didn't realize they are part of the same thing until I was at home.

the Drinking vessel is in fact part of a marmalade or preserve jar ,,
the groove around the neck was where the waxed paper top was held in place with string / wire
A common item whilst digging old tips in the UK ,they also sometimes come with transfers on the front from the firm that once used them
Useful in the kitchen for holding things

Hi, Grimdigger1
Thank you for information. I based my presumption of being a drinking vessel after I saw this picture. It is a mug produced by the same factory in Fulham where was done one of the bottles I found in that same day. Honest mistake. But what you say makes sense. How old do you think is my half jar?
