A friend of mine recently plucked these off a riverbank. They are damaged to the point where I doubt they have any value, but I think they would be pretty nice ones to find undamaged. Any info (CD numbers, undamaged value) is welcome! First example, simply embossed "cable"

Second example, Knowles No. 2 Cable

The CABLE is a CD 259 embossing variant [020]. The real value is in the color (determined by both seller and buyer [:D]) Aqua, Dark Aqua = $10-15, up to a high Dark Yellow Green = $600-700 (in my older Price Guide). In this insulators, GREEN raises the ante exponentially. The KNOWLS is CD 252 embossing variant [030]. The "cross" thingy on the reverse is called a "Prism". The value of these are about the same as the CABLE with GREEN being the desirable feature. One last factor, what is GREEN to one person is not necessarily GREEN to another person, it depends a lot on who's buying and who's selling. I found / find the same thing with higher end bottles where GREEN shades in a particular bottle is a rarity. Jim
