Bill. I'm ASSUMING (and all that goes with that) that my citron cone is a bixby. It doesn't say "bixby" on the bottom but has a big "X" like the emphasized "X" in Bixby. Never mind, it won't be leaving my ink collection (I buy but don't sell anything that isn't a dupe), so it won't matter. I'll post a pic or two when I get around.

Here's the citron cone that I have, with a pic of the "X" on the base. The color is a bit lighter than in the photos, with a bit more yellow to the citron. I'm not quite happy with how the color came out in the pics.

Here's pic 1.

Here's pic 2, with outside light to try to help get the color as close as possible.

Actually, looking at it on the webboard, the color is pretty close.

Hi Jim, that is quite a nice color, I wouldn`t want to part with it either! I doubt that it is a Bixby, but it is still a great color. Thanks for showing us the pictures!

If I was going to sell, I'd sell soon, as the market for cones HAS to become saturated really soon. They are the most common ink type for sale on "the bay" right now I think.

I'd always assumed that it was Bixby. I take it none of your labels have that "X" on the base? Not that I bought it as being from Bixby or anyone else, I bought it for the color. Still, it's good to be able to rule it out as Bixby. Probably just one of the hundreds of generic sellers who used labels in the late 1800s early 1900s.
