P.S. ~

I'd say it's the different size eyes and noses that are the most distinguishing differences.

Thanks for your input SPB and for posting the photos for comparison. You make some good points about the differences of the two bunnys. I think you might be right that, because of the copyright and trademark, this Chocolate Bunny was changed just enough to still resemble Bugs but not infringe on the rights. I think we can conclude that this label does not feature Bugs Bunny but at the same time for someone who wants a Bugs Bunny ACL this bottle is likely the closest one could get unless there is a Bugs ACL out there that I have not seen.

By the way, I am planning to sell this bottle if anyone is interested before it goes to Ebay.

Which brings me to another question. With what we have determined here, do you think I would be misrepresenting my bottle if I listed Bugs Bunny in the title?

JayBeck ~

I suppose you could say it looks like Bugs Bunny ... that is unless it's "Baba Looey" without his sombrero? You gotta admit, the Chocolate Bunny does look a little bit like a burro or a donkey. (Lol)

Hey Jay,

That bunny is somewhat Bugs Bunnyesque. Without DNA evidence can we rule out a possible cousin twice removed? Bugs inspired? I think so.

You could write a little story about watching all the Looney Tunes shorts trying desperately to trace the lineage of this wascally wabbit. I'd think Warner Brothers might be adverse to a paternity test, but it never hurts to ask. Have fun with it.

Hey SPB

I noticed the resemblance to a burro or a donkey as well. If there was not "bunny" in the name I think there could be some debate as to what animal is actually pictured. Maybe it is some kind of combination or inspired by more than one popular cartoon animal of its time.

Thanks again for your input surfaceone! I like the idea that this cartoon bunny could be a relative of Bugs Bunny. I think that is a good idea since putting Bugs Bunny in the title will certainly attract more people to the listing. I think it would be very difficult to prove or disprove that this Chocolate Bunny has anything to do with Bugs especially if the company was trying to avoid copyright & trademark issues.

Yeah ... it's the big snout that gets me. Most bunnies have small, "twitchy" noses.
