I just sent out a question about correct I.D of bottle type and realized the one photo I included didn't shoe the top. Here is another pic. with both bottles in it. Are these sodas , mineral ? Top type ? Any value? I know they are old because he obtained them from a farmhouse on dated back to 1700's(he & my Dad were carpenters and restored many old barns & houses)near where we used to live in Bucks County Pa,
He wants me to put on ebay for him , but I think I must have not identified them correctly because there is only one bid. Do these bottles have some value? Thank you in advance for your help.

They are smooth base Squats with Double Taper Lips, the Richardson dates to the 1870's and is a $10-20 in that color when perfect...

Nathan Richardson was born in New Hampshire 1806 and moved to Trenton between 1847 and 1849. The 1850 US Census lists Richardson's occupation as "a brewer of meade" His two brewers at that time George Tindel and Thomas West were living at his home. He and his wife Bertha had four children; Maria, Harriet, Mary and Charles H.

He bottled Beer, Soda and Mineral Water with his son starting in 1868 until he died in 1876, his son ran the company from that point forward.

The Johnston is a common bottle and is about a $20-30...

I hope this helps....Jim

Hi, Jim did an excellent job with his summary.
I saw 2 others that were nearly identical and I deleted those since they were within a few hours of each other. It gets very confusing for people when too many show up and about the same time. Try and keep it basic and in one post please. Sometimes it can take a while to get a response. I posted a question that took more that a month but this ain't IM so just bear with us.
As for the bottles, I can't give much input. The Johnston's I have seen before, it's just not my area of collecting. I like them OK but...
