Early 1800's bottle

Here is a early bottle dug from a 1820's pit in Petersburg, Va. a while back. Bottle is pontiled . The catch here is that the bottle only stands 1.5 inches tall. Any ideas as to what the bottle could have originally contained ? My first guess would be ink. It was the only whole bottle in the pit . Lots of early necks and bases which I brought home nevertheless. I plan on using them as a reference to early lip and base finishes. Slimdigger

Meech, Same bottle just a different color. A medicine vial. I'll buy that. Thanks for the info. Bruce

My advice is to keep the broken shards and all whenever you go digging. They can come in handy as a reference for what the people of that area and time had available to them.
