Farm pit

Went digging an old farm pit,

the old farm house chimney and well.

The pit is big, it is really big. It will take me a while to open her up properly, but the ash/dirt has compacted down like concrete.........

Some bottles, they ranged in date from 1890-1950, This hole was used for awhile, I wanna see whats at the bottom. I struck some sort of big rusty peice of farming junk at about 4 feet and that stopped everything.. I was digging this about 22 hrs ago, can hardly wait to go back, May need a jack hammer to bust through the dirt.

Will be going back when the weather picks up a little, Here the bottom of a big stone jug, It was a huge stone poison, It just had the top neatly knocked off...ohwell.

G'day Mike,

I am located in Victoria Australia, Been digging for many yrs now in OZ and NZ. I went looking around on the weekend and found the outline of a rather large pit. The well must also have been dug by the old farmer, If the well is an indication of how this guy dug holes then i am in for a big dig!!
Also found two old insulators around an old railway line that morning.
