...I have a half pint thats acid etched "south hadley 1900"

Can you tell me anything about acid etched milks? I dug a 1/2 pint blank slug plate, with no bottom embossing, that's acid etched "SEALED BROCKTON 1900"....though the last letter of "sealed" might not be a "D" and the date might be 1909. Some of the etching is a little unclear.

Elmoleaf, are you sure it is acid etched? Is it possible the pyro or color label has just worn off and you are seeing the "ghost writing?" I'm not questioning your bottle it's just that acid etched milks are far and between but there are some out there and most of them go for quite a few bucks.

Acid etched milks are quite rare and very pricy. If it is acid etched it's a great find.

I dont know too much about them....all I know is Ive only found a couple......and they definitely wouldnt be pyro milks as those came in around....umm....1936 or so.....I like mine alot because Im from South Hadley.....all the ones Ive seen seem to date 1900-1910ish
