Bottle_head9,

the pitcher is whole - amazing considering it was 2 feet down!. Once I rinsed it I saw 2 major cracks but it has held together and there are no chips out of it. I'll get a good pic up once I really wash it but can tell you that it's solid white with no additional colour. I found 2 others, which were both broken and missing pieces but had wonderful coloured patterns so I hope for more.

Thanks for looking.

Nice finds! Looks like there were a fair amount of those dark olive ale bottles. The Dr. JGB looks very nice!

Hey Deenodean & Wheelah23,

that's the 3rd Maltine I've dug there - the other 2 were broken - and we've only dug about 2 1/2 ft down, 6 ft across and 4 ft wide. This particular tip covers about 400 sq ft and has produced to a depth of 3 ft. From what I can tell, it'll be no surprise if it produces to a depth of 4 ft plus. Nearly all keepers have been found less than 2 ft down - it's one of those spots where carefully digging one bottle invariably leads to the discovery of 3 more.

I'll be posting better pics once I've really cleaned them up....now If I can just get that done before digging more....hmmmm..... Could be difficult - the weather has changed to a comfy 80F or so, without humidity and with breezes....Pretty darn good digging weather....

Honey hole update...

Wife and I have been back 3 or 4 times to this site and it's still producing - and well! Here's a few more pics of a site that I believe will keep spittin' 'em out for some time...

The hole...

My better half and enthusiastic newbie! Diane had never even considered bottle collecting or digging until I took her out last month - now there's no stopping her!

She insisted I display my hero thumb - I'm much more careful with the hatchet now!
