I received this bottle in a group I recently purchased on Craigslist. It stands around 4.5" tall. Does anybody know what this was used for? Any value?

Eric is correct . . . It's an imported French bottle which contained capers. Capers were a very popular flavoring for cooked food at the TOC. They are flower buds from a bush grown on the Mediterranean coast. I suspect that use of capers in cooking fell off in the USA with WWI. You can still buy them in your supermarket; they have a perfumey taste.
