Also found was these two gems. The first appears to be black glass. It is embossed with "Cabin" on one side and the other "Bitters ABCC Denver Col 1870" It also has a broken pontail on the bottom. The second appears to be an old Syringe. Does anyone have more information and a possible value?

Super neat bitters. sooner or later the bitters guys will show up. I am guessing high dollar on that one. Is the syringe/doser all glass? Have you looked on ebay at antique medical devices? Scott

The syringe looks like one I found still in a 'Knox-it' venereal disease cure. 1880's-90's. Plunger is cobalt glass, but the rubber stopper was larger to seal the bottle top.

Scott; The syringe is all glass except for there is a wood piece that holds the blue slide piece to the body

I think the Bitters is a repro for American Bottle ???? Collectors ????...I can't remember the whole thing bit It's probably a kelly's fantacy for a show in Denver in 1970 or so.I'll have to look that up.

Eric; Sadly I just found out that the cabin is indeed a reproduction done for the members of the club. Since my grandparents passing I really don't have much history on these bottle other then where and when they were dug.

I wouldn't say sadly. If your intention is to sell them because of space then it may be "the keeper" to remember them by. They were probably active in the club from what I'm seeing so far. Western bottles are in demand at the moment so it they were diggers in the 60's or so you probably got some really good stuff in the rest..

Michael, I just tried to post on this thread and got bumped out and off from the posting I tried to make. So now I don't know what happened. I hope you got my other postings an the newbie info letter. I hope you can do a lot of home work on these pieces of glass. I don't know if you know about the life and application of black glass. You also need to know how to spell pontil and what the different types of empontilling tool marks are on the glass you are evaluating.Don't be too hasty with your challenge. You are in the drivers seat. RED M.
