Hello,

First time on this forum and I'd like to say hi to evryone.
Can anyone provide me information on this type of bottle? The specs I can give are the following:
9 inches tall
Weight: 1 lbs
Molded bottle (seams are visible on both sides but not on the base)
Mold seam glass extrusions visible on both sides.
Thickness of glass base uneven an bottle tilts slighlty
Numbers visible on bottom: 16 and 235 under that
Letters (as best I can tell) K B L L

This bottle was found near my cottage in Quebec Canada, the bottle dump itself is currently frozen so I will wait untill spring to go back. I picked this one up in the fall. the bottle has a great deal of imperfections (bubles, wavy lines, some inverted 'V" like markings)

I'm new to the hooby so any assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello and welcome!
You have picked up a carbonated beverage bottle from the early 1900's.. judging from the markings on the base and the color of the glass, I'd say it came from the British Isles and likely contained mineral water. It would have had a paper label.
I suggest you keep digging that bottle dump after things thaw out!

My feeling would be late 1800's early 1900's as it has a BIMAL (Blown in the Mold Applied Lip bottle; see http://www.antiquebottles.com/glossary.html for definitions of all the terms we use on this site [;)])

Origin is hard to tell but either the US or England... And that's just a guess!

Where are you in Quebec? I'm in Gatineau!

Thank you all for the wealth of information.

My location? Gatineau (secteur Gatineau) as well.

Thanks for the weblink relating to the glossary of terms used. This will be of great assistance.

As I'm just starting, knowing that individuals such as yourselves are available to answer questions so willingly can only serve to inspire one to dig even more!

Again, many thanks.

Here's another picture of some of the imperfections.
