Information on early X-Bazin Philadelphia bottle

I have a little bottle here that I would like some information on. It measures 3 inches high and has a sheared lip. Its six sided and is embossed with X Bazin Succrto E. Roussel Philadelphia. I have a green squat soda bottle in my collection with E. Roussel on it and I was wondering if there was any relation because they were both from Philada? Does anyone also know what was in this bottle? I was thinking medicine at first but the shape reminded me of a snuff bottle.

Tom - Very cool bottle. I cant say definitivly,but I believe its the same company,and I bet youre on the mark about it being a snuff - what other types of bottles look like that? Probobly pretty uncommon too. Good lookin out.

Roussel is mainly a water/soda company but Ive never seen a snuff with that name on it. Looks like a good catch.

99% of my bottles are from Philadelphia...kinda obvious since I live here
