I found this today it is a nice dark brown glaze with what looks like a cork or wax seal finish. This is 6" wide and 7" tall. nice hand turned crock. Anyone have any input or info on this? Thanks Jay

Yes it's a late 19th century American storage jar. 1870-1890s You just need a lid. Not sure of value today, so I'll guess probably $40-75. Nice jar.

I think that this could be classified as a jar because of the smaller cork opening and no handle, so its probably a half gallon crock jar. I also have heard that if the glaze on the inside matches the outside that its usually pre or very early 1800 made, so am I right or wrong. Thanks Jay

Was there any context in which you found this? It looks like an Albany slip from where I sit.
