This is what I came up with and still figuring out how to date bottles. I think this falls in to the early category?

No pontil, according to your second article, ends about 1905. Most 3-piece examples I've come in contact with were no-mistake- about-it whiskeys from the 1870s and 1880s. Yours doesn't have that classic domed shoulder area but neither does a Duffey's Whiskey [Pat.1886 Rochester, NY] (not a 3 piece). So other usage takes nothing away your clear example. I wouldn't obsess over it, nor would I take less than an A. Jackson for it.
